Our History
Since our establishment in 2000, we have been at the forefront of community initiatives in Garissa, with a focus on sustainable climate action, advancing education for girls, and providing critical data collection services for NGOs.
In 2002, RICE participated in conducting the Waberi Preliminary Poverty Study, which revealed that the community in Waberi location consists primarily of drought victims with limited knowledge of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. The study also found that 76% of the population lives in extreme poverty.
Our Main Goals

Girl Child Education
Our education programs focus on removing barriers to school attendance for girls by providing scholarships, mentorship, and community awareness campaigns about the importance of educating girls.

Climate Change Initiatives
To help rural communities adapt to the impacts of climate change through initiatives such as reforestation, sustainable agriculture training, and renewable energy projects.

Pandemic Preparedness & Response
To work with local health departments and NGOs to provide pandemic response training, distribute essential supplies, and educate communities on hygiene and prevention.
How We Work
